PUBLICATIONS AND PRESENTATIONS
Over the years, I have given many presentations and talks to different groups on a variety of issues related to arts and entertainment and intellectual property law. In particular, I have given presentations on licensing art and design, artist gallery contracts and literary agent and publishing contracts. Many of these talks have been presented under the auspices of the California Lawyers for the Arts. I have also given presentations on general issues in copyright and trademark law to community groups and professional associations.
Several of my cases have received press attention, most notably the case of Starbucks v. Dwyer, in which Starbucks Corporation sued the cartoonist Kieron Dwyer for copyright and trademark infringement and trademark dilution arising out of a parody of the Starbucks mermaid logo created by Dwyer. A collection of links to articles on the case can be found at http://members.tripod.com/~LowestComicD/GREED.htm or you can do a Google search under "Consumer Whore."
